The NASA 3-Hour Endurance race at Willow Springs International Raceway was a thrilling and challenging event! The EXR Series team and drivers showed up to dominate with a total of 3 cars, two drivers in each. Our driver line-up consisted of Bill Hynes, our 2017 Endurance Series Champion with his co-driver, Alexandre Premat, V8 Supercar driver for Penske. Second EXR Series team including one of our newest drivers Dan Saltsburg who we were thrilled to have out on track with us for the first race, along with his co-driver Mike Dardin who came to Willow Springs to show out as he did a phenomenal job bringing his team to a first-place victory. Our third car contained Li Chang, a seasoned EXR Series driver who we are so excited to have back on track with us, and the second driver being one of our own, David Perisset, CEO and Co-Founder of the EXR Series.
Upon arrival the track conditions were superb with the temperature being about 60 degrees Fahrenheit/ 15 degrees Celsius. Thirty minutes into the race is where it got really challenging- the track lighting was nonexistent so our drivers had to quickly adapt. Good thing for us, this was great practice for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill race that we will be making a second appearance at in 2018. Mike Dardin, Alex Premat, Bill Hynes, and Li Chang brought their teams to the finish line by quickly learning the track without being able to see more than 10 feet ahead. Our crew was on top of their game with pit stops, tire changes, fueling, quick repairs, and all around a strong support for the drivers. The EXR Series is so proud of all our drivers and we can’t wait for the next race April 28th at our home track in Las Vegas!
