Formula Drift World Champion Fredric Aasbo doesn’t spend much time grip driving these days, but showed speed at Exotics Racing in Las Vegas when he dropped by for a drive in one of the brand new EXR LV02 racecars.
The lightweight, tube-frame chassis EXR LV02 racing machines that will be used in the upcoming EXR Racing Series are vastly different from the type of equipment that Aasbo is accustomed to slinging sideways in drift contests the world over.
But the Rockstar Energy Drink driver, who competes in top-spec, 1,000 horsepower cars designed to produce tire-smoking, showy slides, said his try-out in the EXR LV02 was a highlight of his trip to Las Vegas.
“That was so much fun,” he told EXR Racing Series Sporting Advisor Tristan Vautier after his drive.
The Norwegian began his driving career behind the wheel of karts and completed World Rally Champion Petter Solberg’s karting school when he was just a teenager. Although he rarely completes against the clock, he said he wouldn’t rule out an EXR Racing Series run in an EXR LV02.
