A huge weekend for Alex Premat at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000
Bathurst, AUS – Known as The Great Race, the Bathurst 1000 is legendary in the world of motorsport. Held on circuit that incorporates public roads, this grueling race includes tight turns, steep drops, and narrow passing. Over the weekend EXR Racing Series Team Manager and Red Bull Racing Australia driver, Alex Premat, came in second propelling his team mate, Shane van Gisbergen to the top of Supercars’ championship standings.
“Wow, what a race! It was so close there in the end and it was a great drive by Shane (van Gisbergen). Second place is cool, it is an awesome feeling. It was busy with the double stacking, we weren’t sure of the outcome there for a while. The team’s strategy was perfect at the end, we just missed out. It is all pretty amazing; I am very excited for the Gold Coast now and let’s hope that we can continue this. It is great for Red Bull Racing Australia, and of course Shane, because this means more points for him and his championship standing,” said Alex after the race.
Before returning to Las Vegas, Alex will race in the Castrol Gold Coast 600 with Shane van Gisbergen. The duo has been very successful and is looking to finish strong along the beach in Surfers Paradise.
